State-of-the art security for a brand new healthcare tower
This project included the design and construction of a new addition, as well as major renovations throughout the iconic St. Michael’s Hospital. The new addition consists of a state-of-the-art 17-storey, 250,000 sqft patient care tower with inpatient facilities for orthopedic surgery, oncology and respirology, and expanded intensive care units for coronary and medical-surgical patients. All in-patient rooms are private.
The renovations to the existing 150,000 sqft facility were extensive and included the creation of a new ambulatory centre on three floors of the adjacent wing to house programs such as the kidney transplant, urology, neurosurgery, and orthopedic clinics. The project was delivered as a P3 (Design-Build-Finance) model.
Lobo’s security systems consisted of:
- IP Video Surveillance, Access Control, Intercom, Duress Alarm, and Real Time Locating System
- Upgraded security systems throughout the new and existing facilities to create a uniform system
